Why Me?

My sister Doris was a wonderful girl. When she was 12 a trusted friend of the family started raping her. The abuse went on for years.

Why me?

What did she do wrong to deserve that kind of treatment?

When she was 40, and happily married, with three beautiful children, she got breast cancer.

Why me?

After a long and painful fight against cancer, with lots of prayers and a health care system that was government run, so very slow and inadequate, she died. 700 people came to her funeral. She has been dead and gone for years. The man who raped her is still alive to this day. And never did any jail time.

Why me?

This year has been devastating for me financially. We are in the longest, and worst depression of our lifetime. Massive government intervention has only seemed to make it worse, and prolong it longer.

Why me?

Here is a guy who gave his life in service to God. He was accused unjustly. He spends his last two years in jail. Awaiting a trial to exonerate him that never happens. He dies before he goes to trial.

Why me?

30 -31 "Paul lived for two years in his rented house. He welcomed everyone who came to visit. He urgently presented all matters of the kingdom of God. He explained everything about Jesus Christ. His door was always open."

And thus ends the story of the greatest missionary who ever lived.

Of course, he wrote much of the New Testament from that house arrest in Rome. But still,

Why me?

You know, sometimes things just don't make sense this side of heaven!
